MEET SCOTT SYME

As a fifth-generation Idahoan, Scott Syme has a rooted connection to District 9. His family has been a part of the community for over 150 years. Raised on a farm near Weiser, he understands the values that make Idaho great. Scott graduated from the College of Idaho with a B.A. in Business Administration. Colonel Syme served 32 years in the US Army and Army Reserve, including two tours in Iraq. Syme was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Iraq. Scott was elected to the Idaho State House of Representatives in 2017 and served for three terms.

His community involvement includes serving as the Chairman of the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce and the President of the God and Country Family Festival for two years. Scott and his wife Patti, of 47 years, have 4 children and 9 great-grandchildren. They are small business owners in Caldwell as well as operating a small 43-acre farm where they raise sheep and hay.
